The client for this project had recently retired & was spending their days dutifully maintaining a verdant lawn & shrub border. They also had growing concerns about climate change & habitat loss, which is where we came in. We proposed turning their backyard into an accentuated shrub steppe, complete with a rock outcropping for smaller alpine plants. They now spend their days enjoying the quiet hum of life present in their yard for much of the year, and are free to travel without concern for a lawn that needs regular mowing & attention.
